Bowers Shrimp Farm was founded in 1989 with the stocking of Pacific White Shrimp in thirteen ponds by Harold Bowers. Today the aquaculture farm consists of ninety shrimp ponds and is owned by Harold’s son, Reed Bowers and Reed’s wife, Lynn Bowers. Reed has been actively involved with the farm since he was in his teens. He has managed every aspect of shrimp farming; including stocking, feeding, monitoring growth, harvesting, processing and packaging. His management skills and knowledge have led this aquaculture facility to become the largest domestic producer of farm raised shrimp in the United States.
